Elberta, Foley, and Summerdale Middle Schools combined and participated in the Alabama Adventure Music Festival May 13-14 in Bessemer, AL. The band spent two days in Birmingham and Bessemer taking in some of the sights and performing. "The students worked very hard to prepare for the performance. The most difficult challenge was rehearsing each band separately and bringing them all together just before the trip," says Elberta director Jimmy O'Cain. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade student attended the trip. The performing ensemble was composed of 7th and 8th grade students. "The trip was a great success, everything ran smoothly and everyone seemed to have tons of fun," says Jimmy O'Cain. The Ensemble scored a Gold Medal which the highest marks available in the festival. The Middle School Bands are under the Direction of Jimmy O'Cain and Bobby Malone.
